Srila Prabhupada said: Why our men does not become ready before four o'clock and have mangala arati and kirtana? If our habits are not changed, then what is the use of spending so much money?

...be sober, stick to the principles, read the books carefully, learn more and more about the whole situation, and as far as possible, live conveniently.

In the material existence of life, one is certainly influenced by propensities for lust and desire for dominating the resources of material nature. Desire for overlording and for sense gratification is the greatest enemy of the conditioned soul; but by the strength of Krsna consciousness, one can control the material senses, the mind and the intelligence.

Once a servant of Srila Prahupada’s confided in me that Srila Prabhupada would sometimes sit very still for long hours if he became disturbed by a disciple writing to request a divorce. Gurudas Prabhu once noted that -- before the days of watches with batteries -- Prabhupada would sit so still that his automatic self-wind Bulova watch would stop.

I fell asleep during so many of your lectures, in L.A., Bombay, I was tired from work for you, but that is no excuse. You said, "I notice you fall asleep."

Lord Siva is not an ordinary living being. He is the plenary portion of the Lord, but because Lord Siva is in direct touch with material nature, he is not exactly in the same transcendental position as Lord Visnu. The difference is like that between milk and curd. Curd is nothing but milk, and yet it cannot be used in place of milk.

TRANSLATION Those persons who execute their duties according to My injunctions and who follow this teaching faithfully, without envy, become free from the bondage of fruitive actions.

Even Brahma is bewildered, what to speak of ordinary men like us. So Krsna-lila, to understand... There is no need of understanding. Simply you love Krsna, then the whole business finished. Just like if you touch fire, if you understand it or not understand it, the warmness is there.

Pradyumna: "Purport: In the human society, all over the world, there are millions and billions of men and women, and almost all of them are less intelligent because they have very little knowledge of the spirit soul."

Devotee's business is to glorify. He doesn't take any credit for himself. Actually, there is nothing to be taken credit. The all credit goes to Krsna. A devotee neither claims; neither it is possible. Even he may be very, very big devotee, he will never claim any credit for his glorious activities. His glorious activities means to make Krsna glorious.

Guru-krpa: What if sometimes disciple, he may go to preach, but he's not preaching in the exact same spirit of his spiritual master? Prabhupada: Therefore he is not to be preached. Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, janma sarthaka kari' kara para-upakara: [Cc. Adi 9.41] "Go to do good to others. First of all you do good to yourself."
