Just see how the economic problems will be solved simply by one movement, this Krishna consciousness movement. Try to understand. Because mahi [earth] will produce everything. Just like here in this Letchmore Heath there are so many, so much land lying vacant. You produce your own food. Why you are going to London, to the […]

CC Adi 7.23 Translation by Srila Prabhupada In distributing love of Godhead, Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His associates did not consider who was a fit candidate and who was not, nor where such distribution should or should not take place. They made no conditions. Wherever they got the opportunity, the members of the Panca-tattva distributed love […]

Whether one is a brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, sudra, American, Englishman, Indian, etc., one can execute devotional service anywhere and everywhere in the material existence simply by offering prayers unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The Hare Krsna maha-mantra is also a prayer, for a prayer addresses the Supreme Personality of Godhead by His name and […]

It is the government’s duty to see that nobody is rascal, either the scientist is rascal or the priest is rascal. There must be real understanding. That is government’s duty. Otherwise, if the priest says, “The scientist speaking against religion; therefore he should be hanged,” so that is not good government. Government must see that […]

The Krsna consciousness movement is teaching this higher knowledge of retiring from materialistic life to return to Godhead, but unfortunately many parents are not very satisfied with this movement. Aside from the parents of our students, many businessmen are also dissatisfied because we teach our students to abandon intoxication, meat-eating, illicit sex and gambling. If […]

Living with Prabhupada in India was a real pleasure. It was so wonderful to watch how he dealt with the high-class people. It also gave me a vision, or a deep understanding of what Prabhupada’s plan was. He really wanted Indians to take up to their own culture. His original plan was to come to […]

One should chant Hare Krsna and preach about the urgency of making this life perfect in all respects. One should thus engage in the devotional service of the Lord and follow in the footsteps of previous acaryas, beginning with Lord Brahma and others. From Srila Prabhupada’s purport to SB 4.24.67

Satsvarupa: So if all the land belongs to God, then who decides who will distribute it to the people? Prabhupada: You don’t distribute. You live only, till the ground and take your food. Where is the question of distribution? Whatever you can till, you take so much land. God has enough land. Why do you […]

Following in the footsteps of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, a Vaisnava should be fully satisfied simply to see a variety of food offered to the Deity of Jagannatha or Radha-Krsna. A Vaisnava should not hunger for a variety of food for his own sake; rather, his satisfaction is in seeing various foods being offered to the […]

In this age human beings only live for sixty or eighty years, and even this small life-span is gradually decreasing. Therefore it is even more imperative for human beings to take to the worship of the lotus feet of the Lord by constantly chanting the Hare Krsna mantra, as recommended by Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. From […]

What is the standard of morality? Can you explain? Can any one of you say? Have you got any idea what is the standard of morality? The standard of morality is to obey the Supreme. Parama koruna, pahu dui jana, nitai gauracandra. This is a song sung by Locana dasa Thakura, a great devotee of Lord Caitanya, almost contemporary. He wrote one book, Caitanya-mangala, depicting the activities of Lord Caitanya. That is a very famous book, Caitanya-mangala. And he has composed many songs. Practically all Vaisnavas, they are transcendentally poetic. […]
